Crepes


Our Crepes are perfect for a lazy Sunday morning brunch at home. Enjoy this recipe all year round paired with your favourite sweet or savoury fillings.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • ½ cup water
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2tbs butter
  • Oil

 

Method

  1. In a medium size bowl whisk flour and eggs together.  Slowly pour milk and water and stir until well combined.  Beat until smooth.

  2. Heat a teaspoon of oil in the Bessemer crepe pan and place on a medium-high heat.  Pour crepe batter into middle of the pan (approx. ¼ of a cup) and slowly tilt and turn the pan in a circular motion to coat the base of the pan.
  3. Fry crepe until the top of the crepe is no longer wet or a batter like consistency.  This should take 2-3 mins. Using a flat spatula, run it underneath along the edge of the crepe. Using the double handed handle flip the crepe and cook the other side.
  4. When golden brown serve with your favourite fruit or fillings, ice cream and a sprinkle of icing sugar.
