What is Party Plan?
Party Plan or Direct Selling describes the convenience and personal service of having products brought to your home or office instead of having to visit a store, and it permits the demonstration and trialing of these products before you purchase, reducing the risk of "will it look good there", "will it fit", and "will it cook on my new stove top?" It takes the guesswork out of purchasing.

What sort of products are sold by Party Plan companies?
With over 100 member companies of the Direct Selling Association of Australia you can be sure there is quite a range - cookware, cosmetics, lingerie, table linen, vitamins and health products, storage containers, even aromatherapy products and so on. Some of the better known companies are Avon, Tupperware, Nutri-Metics and of course, Bessemer.
If a product is to be successfully marketed using the Party Plan method it has to be:

What sort of person becomes a Distributor?
Of the 700,000 Party Plan or Direct Sales people in Australia, some 70% are female, 60% are aged between 35 and 55 years old, and 83% enjoy their independence and make a good living.

Am I employed by Bessemer?
No, if you sign up to become an independent Distributor you are exactly that, a Distributor of Bessemer products. In doing this you choose to accept our terms and conditions. You are self-employed as you order the product from us that you sell.

Once I've signed up what happens?
Once you've signed up and chosen the kit you want to begin with, you will need to attend some basic training to familiarise yourself with the product, its benefits and how best to present this at a party. Support material such as promotional literature and sales aids are also available for purchase to help you in your new business. Fabulous new promotions are run cyclically which enables our Distributors to always have something new and appealing to offer their customers. Bessemer offers Distributors continual support and encouragement, especially in those early days when you're just settling in. Then it's off to run a few parties and start making some money. Always try and get a couple of people to agree to hosting another party at the time of the party, to help you begin to build your customer base.

What do I do with my orders?
Once the party is over you can send or fax your orders in to the office in your state. It will then be processed and your products packed. You collect the money from the Hostess on delivery and pay this into the company within 7 days of order receipt ( this is subject to credit approval).
